WHAT IS THE SOUP DIET?
The Soup diet is also called the Cabbage Soup Diet or the Sacred Heart diet. The Soup Diet, just like the Hospital Diet has been developed for people who have to lose weight quickly due to medical reasons.
It is unclear who is the inventor of this diet, but it is known that the soup diet originated in the United States and there is a lot of supporters. That is not surprising because it is a simple and cheap way to lose a few kilos super fast. At least 4 kilos should be possible after 7 days to have followed the soup diet.
During this diet, you consume between 800 and 1000 calories every day, which means the soup diet belongs to the category of crash diets.
HOW DOES THE SOUP DIET WORK?
As I said, the soup diet works very easily.
The duration of the diet is 7 days. You have to stop after this week. If you want to start again, you have to wait at least 7 days.
During the soup diet these are the prohibited food products:

On the internet, there are all kinds of experiences of the soup diet. Many people have indeed lost 5 or 6 kilos after a week. Unfortunately, there are few reactions to find if they can keep those pounds off permanently.
A lot is written, however, that the soup came out their nose at a given moment and that after the soup diet, they did not feel like soup for a while.
DISADVANTAGES OF THE SOUP DIET
The soup diet may still seem like a good method because it is cheap, you can lose weight super fast and you only have to keep it for 7 days. Yet the advantages do not outweigh the disadvantages, because:
- You do not learn how to permanently lose weight
- When you follow a diet plan, you often forget to think for yourself and experiment. As a result, you will never really lose weight.
- After the diet creates the well-known yo-yo effect
- Because you eat so little for a period of time, the body craves more nutrition. As soon as you start eating normally again, your body will hold it as long as possible, so that you will arrive quickly again.
- You are quickly looking forward to the soup
- Every day eating soup bored faster than you think. Also, the taste of the soup may be weak, because you can not use salt.
- Although you can eat as much soup as you want, you will still be hungry.
- It sounds nice to be able to eat as much soup as you want. Yet this remains a low-calorie meal, so you will quickly hunger.
- You lose almost no fat, but a lot of moisture.
